Muscle Ache Kit FAQs


  • Many women will experience muscle and joint pain during menopause. One of oestrogen’s functions is to act as an anti-inflammatory, and so when oestrogen levels begin to decline as a natural part of menopause, muscle and joint pain can become worse.


  • There are lots of ways to help manage muscle pain. A warm bath will encourage circulation and help relax tight or sore muscles, so is a great way to reduce strain if you are suffering. Muscle balms and rubs can also have a similar effect, increasing blood flow to the specific region to help with inflammation.


  • During perimenopause and menopause, you may notice your muscles and joints feel stiff and sore more often, or that you feel particularly tender. This is a result of the hormonal changes the take place during menopause, and in particular thought to be due to the reduced production of oestrogen.
